  • The Hornets’ Eric Gordon will be out indefinitely with a right knee injury. He missed most of the preseason and coach Monty Williams said the team is trying to “get more clarity on what’s going on.” Rookie Austin Rivers will move into Gordon’s spot.
  • New Orleans forward Jason Smith said he’s ready to go after injuring his shoulder in the preseason. “So far, in the last couple of practices, it has held up pretty well,” said Smith, who described the injury as a bone bruise and subluxation.
  • The Spurs’ Manu Ginobili won’t play because of back spasms. San Antonio has no other injuries of note that will keep players out of tonight’s game.
  • San Antonio’s second bus ran into traffic issues getting from the team hotel on the outskirts of the French Quarter to the New Orleans Arena. The bus included coach Gregg Popovich and arrived about a little more than an hour before tipoff.
