- The Orlando Magic chase their first 3-0 start in three years with a win on the road against the Chicago Bulls. Jameer Nelson will not play because of his strained right hamstring and groin, which gives the Magic nine games missed due to injury after tonight. Hedo Turkoglu is out because of his broken hand suffered against the Nuggets in the season opener. Al Harrington will be out indefinitely with right knee rehabilitation.
- The Bulls lost at the United Center Saturday against New Orleans, so a loss tonight at the Madhouse on Madison would give coach Tom Thibodeau his first-ever home losing streak. They lost 12 times at home under Thibodeau in his first two seasons, and both years the Magic won one of those games.
- The White House confirmed to the Chicago Tribune that former Bull star and current team ambassador Scottie Pippen played basketball with President Barack Obama in Chicago Tuesday as Obama prepared for a long night. Also playing in the game was former NBA player Reggie Love and Oregon State coach Craig Robinson, who is Obama’s brother-in-law.
