SPURS AT KINGS, 10:00 P.M. ET

TV: League Pass

  • The 4-1 San Antonio Spurs roll in to Sacramento with a nasty stomach virus making its way through their roster.  According to coach Gregg Popovich, Stephen Jackson will miss the game tonight, while both Tony Parker and Tim Duncan will attempt to give it a go and see how long they can last on the floor.
  • Manu Ginobili is coming back from an early season back issue and Popovich has been using a cautious approach when filtering  him back into the rotation.  “Probably around 25 (minutes) or so – 20-25 probably,” is the target for tonight’s contest according to Popovich, who also expects Ginobili to play some small forward tonight with Jackson missing the game.
  • Before the game, Popovich had some high praise for the young Kings team his Spurs will face tonight.  “Those guys are young and energetic.  They’re talented.  They’re buying in defensively, paying attention and focusing on that.  The future looks good.  Keith‘s (Smart) done a good job of getting them all on the same page.”
  • For the first time this season, veteran small forward John Salmons is in uniform for the Kings tonight.  Salmons missed most of training camp awaiting the birth of his third child, but he is a ways away from playing a major role in the Kings rotation.
