WIZARDS At HAWKS, 7:30 p.m. ET

TV: League Pass

  • The Wizards will again be short-staffed Wednesday when they try to win their first game of the season, but at least they’ll have Nene. The veteran forward hasn’t played a minute in Washington’s 0-9 start because of plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He’s not expected to start, but will be available for limited minutes off the bench. Nene averaged 14.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in 11 games with Washington last season after being traded from the Nuggets.
  • Washington will be missing another forward as Nene returns. Trevor Booker will not play after straining his right knee in Monday’s loss to the Pacers. Booker, coincidentally, missed the final 15 games of last season with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. The Wizards will again be without point guard John Wall. He hasn’t played this season because of a stress injury in his left patella.
  • Hawks coach Larry Drew didn’t hint at any changes in the lineup as Atlanta (5-4) goes for its season-high third straight win. Atlanta is likely to again start Jeff Teague and Devin Harris in the backcourt, Kyle Korver at small forward, Josh Smith at power forward and Al Horford at center.
  • The Hawks have beaten Washington eight straight times in Philips Arena.
