GRIZZLIES AT SPURS, 8:30 P.M. ET

TV: League Pass

  • Spurs coach Gregg Popovich made a statement about the league’s $250,000 fine of the Spurs for resting Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green for San Antonio’s game against the Miami Heat on Thursday night. “Of course, I was disappointed with the action, but what I do from my perspective is from a coaching perspective. I think the league operates from a business perspective, and that’s reflected in the action they took. That’s that and we move on.”
  • Kawhi Leonard, who has been battling quadriceps tendonitis for the Spurs, will not play against the Grizzlies on Saturday night. According to Popovich, Leonard is not likely to play at all in the team’s three-game homestand.
  • The Grizzlies will be without Tony Allen against the Spurs. Allen missed Memphis’ win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night. He is currently day-to-day with a right groin strain.
