  • Kings guard Tyreke Evans, who has been battling a sore left knee for the past two weeks, is a game-time decision. Evans missed consecutive games earlier this month before playing in Sacramento’s past three, starting the last two. Against Denver on Sunday, Evans played just 10 minutes and scored two points. “I think the doctors and training staff have done everything possible and now it just comes down to pain tolerance,” said Kings coach Keith Smart. If Evans can’t go, Kings Smart said Francisco Garcia will get the start.
  • Though his Suns have a chance to post their first three-game winning streak of the season, coach Alvin Gentry said the method is more important than the results right now. “The thing for us isn’t the winning streak,” he said. “It’s the consistency and knowing we can play like that night in and night out.”
  • Gentry is rolling out the same starting lineup for the third straight games but minutes continue to be up for grabs at one forward position, with Luis Scola starting but Michael Beasley and Markieff Morris logging substantial minutes. Gentry said it’s not a sustainable situation going forward. “It doesn’t work when you’ve got three guys at a position,” Gentry said. “It works with two but three is tough. But we’ve got to do whatever is best for us to win basketball games.”
