TV: League Pass
- The Lakers will have veteran forward Pau Gasol back in the starting lineup when they host the Bobcats tonight at Staples Center. Gasol missed the last eight games with tendinitis in his knees. The 7-foot Spaniard is off to a slow start this season, averaging 12.6 points through the first 17 games, six less than his career average. A 52-percent field-goal shooter during his previous 11 years in the NBA, Gasol has dipped to 42 percent this season. The Lakers have gone 3-5 in Gasol’s absence, falling to 12th in the Western Conference.
- The Bobcats are one of only two teams in the NBA that the Lakers own a .500 record or worse against. The other is the Celtics. The Lakers are 7-8 all time against Charlotte. Also, the Lakers, Hornets and Pistons are the only teams that have not won this season when trailing to start the final quarter. The Lakers are 0-12, the Hornets are 0-13 and the Pistons are 0-16.
- Lakers guard Kobe Bryant has scored at least 30 points in six straight games. He’s averaging 29.2 points in 14 career games against the Bobcats, the highest career average against any NBA team.
