HORNETS AT SPURS, 8:30 P.M ET

TV: League Pass

  • Kawhi Leonard will play his first game for the Spurs since Nov. 15. Leonard has missed the last 18 games with quadriceps tendinitis in his left leg.”Not that many minutes,” Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said before the game when asked how much action Leonard would see in his return against New Orleans.
  • Hornets coach Monty Williams cited turnovers as an area of concern entering Friday night’s game against the Spurs. “We have to take care of the ball. When we stay in that 12 turnover range it helps us,” Williams said. The Hornets have lost nine straight games.
  • With Leonard returning to the Spurs’ lineup, Coach Pop can look forward to a little stability in the rotation. The Spurs have the most players in the NBA with at least one start this season with 12 total players having started a game.
  • Hornets rookie Anthony Davis has played in only 12 of the team’s 25 games this season, but returned to the starting lineup on December 18 in a loss to the Golden State Warriors. “AD is starting to get his legs back,” Monty Williams said. Davis is averaging 15.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game since returning to the starting lineup.
