• Carmelo Anthony returns to the Knicks starting lineup after sitting one game because of the Kevin Garnett dust-up. The last time the Bulls visited the Knicks, Anthony was ejected in a 110-106 loss Dec. 21. He vowed to make amends after that game, saying, “Chicago-New York game will always be a physical game. We see them again Jan. (11), though, back here in the Garden. We will be prepared for that.”
  • Marcus Camby will be out 2-4 weeks with a strained left plantar fascia, which he reinjured in Thursday’s loss at Indiana. “We’ll get him back rehabbed again and try to get him back on the floor when we can,” Knicks coach Mike Woodson said.
  • Woodson plans to limit Amar’e Stoudemire (knee) to 20 minutes. “He’ll play but restricted minutes,” Woodson said. Asked if he had considered starting Amar’e, Woodson said, “No….We gotta get off this restriction thing.”
  • The Knicks will start Jason Kidd, James White, Anthony, Kurt Thomas and Tyson Chandler. Ronnie Brewer comes off the bench. “He’ll rebound, he’ll be back,” Woodson said. “I’m searching, too.”
  • Woodson says he “hasn’t talked to [GM] Glen [Grunwald]” about possible free agents, given that Camby and Rasheed Wallace (stress reaction) are injured. Kenyon Martin has been mentioned in reports.
  • Kirk Hinrich (right elbow) starts for the Bulls after being a gametime decision. Luol Deng, Rip Hamilton, Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah also started.
  • Derrick Rose may soon start watching games from the bench as he works his way back. “He could,” Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters at shootaround, according to the Tribune. “He’s still locked into doing some rehab stuff, and that’s the primary focus. Whether he sits on the bench or not, he’s here with us.”
  • The Knicks have lost two straight and seven of 12.
  • The Bulls are coming off a 106-94 loss Wednesday to Milwaukee, but have won three of four.
