HORNETS AT CELTICS, 8 P.M. ET

TV: League Pass

  • The Hornets will be without starting shooting guard Eric Gordon tonight. He is out on the second half of the team’s back-to-back to rest his surgically repaired right knee.
  • The Hornets have won five of their last six games, including wins over San Antonio and Houston. A major reason for the improved play? The emergence of Greivis Vasquez who has led the team in scoring over the past 10 games with 17.8 points per game.
  • Tonight will mark the first game that Doc Rivers will face off against his son Austin Rivers in a head-to-head matchup. Doc reflected on the matchup tonight with reporters about the mixed emotions he has in having to face his own blood. “It’s not something I look forward to. It’s not a moment I’ll enjoy now,” Rivers said.
  • Chris Wilcox will be active tonight and is ready to play for the Celtics after sitting out the past month with a sore right thumb. Rivers is hopeful he will not have to use the big man, in order to give him extended rest.
