TV: League Pass
- The Grizzlies will be without forward Zach Randolph, who is out with a sprained lower back. Starting in his place will be forward Marreese Speights. Speights is averaging 6.6 points and 4.8 rebounds. He will have to step up his game significantly to not only make up for Randolph’s 16.4 points and 11.6 rebounds, but also the lack of scoring off the bench in the post.
- In watching the Grizzlies game film from their last three games, all blowout losses to Dallas, the Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio, Sacramento coach Keith Smart said he noticed the Grizzlies looked tired. They weren’t getting to the 50/50 balls are getting deflections like they’re accustomed to. Memphis coach Lionel Hollins agreed with Smart’s assessment. “There’s probably a little mental fatigue as well as physical fatigue,” Hollins said. “Everybody gets tired and you have stretches that are tough.”
- This is the first of a three-game road trip for Sacramento, a trip that has them playing three games in four nights. In fact, nine of the Kings next 11 games will be on the road.
- The Grizzlies need backup point guard Jerryd Bayless to get out of his shooting funk. Bayless is averaging just under five points in his last five games and is shooting 26.7 percent in those games. He has also committed nine turnovers during that stretch.
