  • Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said center Chris Andersen is active tonight. He was signed on Sunday to a 10-day contract. Spoelstra said he wouldn’t have any hesitation playing Andersen. He said, “Whether it happens, I’m not sure.” 
  • LeBron James and Dwyane Wade will play despite missing practice earlier in the week. Wade missed Monday with a sore toe while James was out with what the team termed as a cold on Tuesday.
  • It was announced Wednesday the Heat will visit the White House on Jan. 28. Spoelstra on the visit: “It is the pinnacle of the things that we’ve been able to experience together.”
  • Jarvis Varnado and Dexter Pittman are inactive for the Heat.
  • Jose Calderon continues to produce in the starting lineup since replacing Kyle Lowry at point guard. Coach Dwane Case said, “Kyle is more of an attack point guard who can get his own shot and make his own plays, whereas Jose helps the other 14 guys around him.”
