TIMBERWOLVES AT WIZARDS, 7 P.M. ET

TV: League Pass

  • Washington Wizards coach Randy Wittman is starting G John Wall for the first time this season. “It’s time,” Wittman said. “You’ve got to learn how to play with John, there’s no question about that, and I think guys are seeing that. There’s still an adjustment period there. Now it’ll be even a little bit different adjustment with him in the starting lineup.”
  • The Wizards split their four-game road trip. “When you look at the whole picture of it, we played some very good basketball,” Wittman said. “When you look at the whole picture, we’re doing some good things. Now it’s important, with that behind us, to continue that momentum of what we’re doing, and continue to do that.”
  • Minnesota Timberwolves acting coach Terry Porter speaks daily with Rick Adelman, who’s away from the team to be with his ailing wife. “His spirits are up; his spirits are pretty good considering what’s going on.  At this point he can’t be with us.  Sometimes there are things in life that put everything in perspective for us.  He’s hanging in, he’s connected with the team.  He still has a good pulse of the team and what’s going on,” Porter said.
  • Luke Ridnour will start. He’s the only Timberwolves player to appear in every game. “Luke’s a warrior, you ask anybody in that locker room.  There’s been multiple times where we didn’t think he was going to for back — or whatever the situation was at the time — but he’s just gutted it out and found a way to do it.  He does a great job taking care of his body,” Porter said.
