TV: League Pass

  • Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has elected to stay at home for a third-straight game because of an illness. “He got hit pretty hard by this and he’s very cautious about exposing the team to it,” said assistant coach Mike Budenholzer, who takes over in cases when Popovich can’t be on the sidelines. “[He’s] still feeling pretty weak. We want to keep the players healthy and make sure he’s healthy, too.”
  • This will be the third-straight Spurs game without Tim Duncan as well. Duncan continues to sit because of left knee soreness. Yet the Spurs are 2-0 without Duncan and Popovich, recently. Boris Diaw is expected to start again in place of Duncan.
  • Tony Parker might have a noticeable bump over his left eye, but he’ll play after continuing on last night in the Spurs’ 113-107 victory at Dallas even when he got three stitches to close a cut near to the eyelid. Parker got it in the first quarter when he got bumped during a drive to the basket.
  • Although he experienced an irregular heartbeat earlier this week, Jermaine O’Neal has made the Suns’ trip to San Antonio. He thinks he might be able to play again in two or three days.
