- Grizzlies guard Mike Conley is out for this game against the 76ers with a sprained left ankle.
- Memphis forward Quincy Pondexter remains out with a Grade 2 sprain of his left medial collateral ligament.
- The Grizzlies enter this game with a 28-15 record, the best start in franchise history.
- When scoring 100 or more points this season, the Grizzlies are 13-0. They’re 0-4 when the opposing team scores 100.
- Memphis center Marc Gasol is on his way to possibly becoming the first player in NBA history to finish a season ranked in the top 10 in both blocked shots per game and free throw percentage. Gasol is averaging 1.84 blocks while shooting a career-high 87.3 percent from the free throw line.
- Sixers guard Jason Richardson is out for the fourth straight game because of left knee synovitis.
- Sixers coach Doug Collins will return to the bench. In Saturday’s 17-point win over the Knicks, Collins left the bench early in the third quarter and didn’t return because of a blocked nasal passage and sinus infection. Associate head coach Michael Curry took over in Collins’ absence. “I feel great,” Collins said.
- The Sixers will feature the same starting lineup that was so effective in Saturday’s 97-80 win over the Knicks. Jrue Holiday and Nick Young will start at guard, Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young at forward and Spencer Hawes at center.
- Injured All-Star center Andrew Bynum met with reporters about 45 minutes before tip-off and reiterated that he hopes to make his debut somewhere after the All-Star break, scheduled for Feb. 15-17. Bynum could practice for the first by the end of this week. “I have no idea,” Bynum said. “It’ll be up to the doctors at that point.”
- The Sixers signed reserve guard Shelvin Mack to a second 10-day contract.
- The Sixers are looking for their second straight win. They haven’t won consecutive games since season high-tying three-game win streak from Nov. 25-30.
