Mavericks at Suns, 9 p.m. ET

TV: League Pass

  • For the Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki is expected to miss his second straight with a right adductor strain. Chris Kaman is expected to miss his third straight with a concussion. For the Suns, Jermaine O’Neal remains out with an irregular heartbeat. He is improving, though, and could return in a few days.
  • The Suns are expected to dust off Kendall Marshall, the first-round draft pick who has done little, and insert him in the backup point guard role.
  • The Suns are 3-2, 2-0 at home, under new coach Lindsey Hunter.
  • Michael Beasley has been a new player since Hunter replaced Alvin Gentry. He is averaging 18.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 24.4 minutes. (He had averaged 6.3 points in  his previous 16 games.)  “A pleasant surprise,” Hunter said of Beasley. — Mike Tulumello
