TV: League Pass
- The Hawks will start the same big lineup against the Kings Friday night that they started Wednesday against the Heat: center Zaza Pachulia, power forward Al Horford, small forward Josh Smith, shooting guard DeShawn Stevenson and point man Jeff Teague.
- Atlanta newcomers Dahntay Jones and Jeremy Tyler passed their physicals and joined the team for the first time shortly before Friday’s game against Sacramento. Jones is expected to be active, but the former Maverick probably will not play. They may not play Saturday in Milwaukee, either, as Hawks coach Larry Drew said they really ought to practice with the team first.
- Josh Smith said he’s glad he was not traded. “I’m here and I’m glad all this is behind us and now I can focus on jockeying for some playoff position and trying to get on a streak where we can possibly move up a couple of spots,” he told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution at Friday’s afternoon shootaround. Drew said, “I’m ecstatic, to be perfectly honest.”
- Sacramento newcomers Patrick Patterson, Cole Aldrich and Toney Douglas (an Atlanta area native and the brother of Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Harry Douglas) have not practiced with the Kings yet.
