HAWKS AT PISTONS, 7:30 P.M. ET

TV: League Pass

  • Detroit will be without backup point guard Will Bynum, who must serve a one-game league suspension for striking Indiana’s Tyler Hansbrough on Saturday. Brandon Knight will miss his third consecutive game with a hyperextended right knee. Rodney Stuckey will see more time at the point as well as starting at shooting guard. Rookie Kim English will get more minutes and starting forward Kyle Singler will see some time in shooting guard.
  • Second-round pick Khris Middleton has averaged 9.5 points the last two games and will continue to see action as the backup small forward. “Khris was really the only guy who hadn’t gotten a chance and I think he did very well,” Detroit coach Lawrence Frank said. “Any time you’re throwing someone into the fire, there’s got to be a grace period to get their feet wet and understand the intensity level that’s required.”
  • The Hawks have everyone available except Lou Williams (knee surgery).
  • Center Al Horford is averaging 24.2 points and 10.0 rebounds the last five games. “He’s really been aggressive on the offensive end, he’s really looking for his shot,” coach Larry Drew said. “He’s in a pretty good rhythm right now and defensively, he’s very active. When he’s that active on both ends of the floor, he’s fun to coach and fun to watch.”
