TV: League Pass
- Grizzlies’ forward Darrell Arthur will miss his eighth straight game due to neck and back soreness. However, the Grizzlies are expecting rookie guard Tony Wroten to be available. He missed the team’s game at Utah Sunday due to a migraine.
- The Timberwolves welcomed forward Andrei Kirilenko and center Nikola Pekovic back to their lineup Sunday as they helped Minnesota to a 97-95 win over New Orleans. Kirilenko missed nine games after suffering a calf injury. He scored eight points and had five rebounds in 25 minutes. Pekovic, who was sidelined for eight games with an abdominal injury, had 13 points and six boards in just over 24 minutes of action. “You just hope that they can stay healthy now and they don’t have any steps backwards,” Minnesota coach Rick Adelman said. “It was good having them back on the floor. They haven’t been in a game in awhile and were a little rusty, but they both made big plays.”
- The Grizzlies are back home after a four-game trip out West. After beating Portland and the Los Angeles Clippers to climb into the No. 3 spot in the Western Conference standings, the Grizzlies dropped games at Denver and Utah to fall back into the No. 4 spot. All-in-all, coach Lionel Hollins was pleased with his team’s performance. “It’s nice to get back home after being on the road for awhile,” Hollins said. “We had four tough games. … We played well. We could have won all four of them. We were fortunate to be 2-2.”
- The Grizzlies are 11-3 since the All-Star break with two of those losses coming on the road to the only two teams with better post-All-Star game records — Miami and Denver.
