TV: League Pass

  • The Nuggets can determine their own playoff positioning in the season final against Phoenix. A win or a Clippers loss secures the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, but a loss and a Clippers win means Denver opens at home as the fourth seed. Nuggets coach George Karl wants the team to focus on winning the last game and not worry about the postseason just yet. “We’ve played 81 games and we’ve got one more important one. I don’t think it’s overly important other than we’d rather get third or fourth,” Karl said. “We all have a feeling what the better matchup is (in the second round) but is it realistic to spend a lot of time on Oklahoma City or San Antonio. It’s going to be a great series one way or the other.”
  • The Suns won’t have starting point guard Goran Dragic (ankle injury) tonight, or forward Jermaine O’Neal. Rookie Kendall Marshall will start at the point. O’Neal has missed three of the last five games with a bruised shin. Phoenix coach Lindsey Hunter said the 17-year veteran could return for another year if he wanted. “I think he has a lot left, if he wants to,” Hunter said. “A lot of times you’re more mentally fatigued than physically when you play so many years.”
  • Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried will miss his second game with a sprained left ankle suffered Sunday against Portland. Faried has been rehabbing the ankle with the hope of playing in the first round. “He’s been in here three hours a day doing his job,” Karl said. “I don’t think he’ll practice but maybe he’ll go through a shootaround.”

This is a big game for the Nuggets and I can’t wait to see if they clinch the third seed in the playoffs with a win over the Suns tonight. Unfortunately I have to work my shift at DISH during the game, so I won’t be able to watch it until I get home. I have my DISH Hopper set to record all of the Nuggets’ games this season and love that it can store up to 2,000 hours of entertainment to hold them all.
