NETS AT KINGS, 10 P.M. ET

TV: League Pass

  • The Sacramento Kings (1-5) take on the Brooklyn Nets (2-4) tonight at Sleep Train Arena in desperate need of a victory.  Losers of five straight, coach Michael Malone has promised changes, including a new starting lineup for tonight’s game. “We have to find a way to outwork and play with a great sense of urgency and desperation to win games – to be in games,” Malone said.  “I can’t put a finger on why we haven’t done that yet, but I’m hoping that changes tonight.”
  • With the addition of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, expectations for the Nets are extremely high coming into this season.  So far, Brooklyn is off to a slow start, but new head coach Jason Kidd does not seemed phased by his team’s 2-4 record through six games.  “We have some veteran guys who understand how important it is to win and we take the court to win every game,” Kidd said.  “But also, (this is) a learning experience, because this is a new group.  We have a lot of new pieces, so we’re just trying to get used to each other.”
  • “I’m excited to go out there and compete against those guys and just show my talents and go out there and play with those caliber players.” –Rookie Ben McLemore on the first start of his NBA career tonight
