ROCKETS AT 76ERS, 7 P.M. ET

  • Rockets guard James Harden is out for Wednesday’s game against the 76ers because of a bruised left foot.
  • Sixers rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams sat out Tuesday’s practice with a sore left foot, and will not play tonight. Tony Wroten will get the start. Carter-Williams has started every game this season.
  • In Monday’s 24-point loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Carter-Williams scored a season-low eight points on 2-for-11 shooting.
  • The Rockets were already planning to shift to a smaller lineup against the 76ers. Dwight Howard and Omer Asik had started together for the first eight games.
  • Houston’s new-look starting lineup is expected to consist of Patrick Beverley and Jeremy Lin at guard, Chandler Parsons and Terrence Jones at forward with Howard at center. Harden has been battling a bruised left foot.
  • Howard began the night ranked second in the league in rebounding (14.9), slightly behind Minnesota’s Kevin Love (15.0).
  • Sixers center Spencer Hawes already has five double-doubles this season. He had 19 last season.
  • The Sixers have compiled 100 or more points in five of their eight games and are averaging 103.3 points.
