JAZZ AT THUNDER, 7 P.M. ET

TV: League Pass

  • Starting lineup changes for both teams tonight. Thunder head coach Scott Brooks is giving All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook the night off. He insisted to reporters there is nothing physically ailing Westbrook and that nothing else is going on either. “We just have one game (tonight’s) over a five day span so I thought it was just a good opportunity to give him some rest,” Brooks said in the back hallway. Backup Reggie Jackson gets the start in Westbrook’s place.
  • Jazz head coach Ty Corbin is making changes to his starting lineup also tonight. He’s replacing John Lucas III with rookie Trey Burke at point guard and Enes Kanter with Marvin Williams. Williams will play at the power forward position and Derrick Favors will move over to center for tonight. Burke has played in the last three games as he returns from injury, tonight though he will make his first start of the regular season. “He’s still under some minutes restrictions so we’ll monitor those tonight,” Corbin said.
  • Utah has lost five straight games…OKC is 5-0 at home, the team’s best start in their own arena since moving from Seattle. Over those games the Thunder are averaging 107.2 points. The Jazz meanwhile are averaging just 89.7 points during their NBA-worst 1-13 start.
  • The Jazz played one of their better games this season on Opening Night when they lost to the Thunder 101-98 in Salt Lake City.
