- Orlando Magic guard Jameer Nelson will miss his second straight game with a sprained left foot. Tobias Harris is out for the fourth consecutive game with a sore left ankle.
- The Magic are playing the first of six consecutive games on the road. They’re 1-5 away from home. “We have nothing planned special,” Orlando coach Jacque Vaughn said. “Every coach says to his team: ‘Protect home. You want to win at home.’ That’s why your approach on the road has to even be more consistent, more dialed in.”
- Washington Wizards forward Otto Porter (right hip) and forward Al Harrington (right knee) remain out. Porter has yet to play this season and Harrington has missed the last 11 games. “After tonight, we have a couple of days of practice so we’ll see where they’re at after those days,” coach Randy Wittman said.
- Forward Marcin Gortat has been a nice addition for Washington. Gortat, who was acquired from Phoenix just before the start of the season, is averaging 13.4 points and 9.4 rebounds a game. “Marcin has been great since coming over here in establishing himself,” Wittman said. “He’s getting into a rhythm of what we’re doing and how we do it and the guy’s he’s playing with.”
