- The Boston Celtics will be without G Avery Bradley with a sprained right ankle. “Avery’s probably out a couple of weeks,” coach Brad Stevens said. Bradley suffered his injury in Tuesday’s loss at Miami. Boston will also be without G Rajon Rondo and G Jerryd Bayless. Rondo’s absence is precautionary. “This is a sitting out the back-to-back thing,” Stevens said. Bayless, who missed Tuesday’s game with a sprained left big toe. “Bayless is better, but still going to be at best day-to-day when we play again,” Stevens said.
- The Celtics signed G Vander Blue to a 10-day contract on Wednesday. He’s the second player with a 10-day contract on the team. They already had swingman Chris Johnson. “Changing of the guard,” Stevens said.
- Boston will start Gerald Wallace and Phil Pressey in place of Rondo and Bradley
- Washington Wizards coach Randy Wittman continues to downplay the attempt of his team to get over .500. Three times this season, the Wizards have been at .500, and each time they’ve lost. “My whole thought process of one game getting over .500. Can we make it four out of five? Can you make it five out of six? That’s what good teams do. All of a sudden you’re at .500, and you look up and you’re six or seven games over .500,” Wittman said
